Review: TS Suites in Seminyak Bali

Hey Loves,

Recently I went to the TS Suites in Seminyak, Bali for a review. After living in Bali and knowing all the hotspots I was happy I could finally visit one of my fave boutique hotels that Seminyak offers!

The TS Suites hotel is located in Seminyak. You can easily reach the hotel from Denpasar Airport by car (20 minutes). And the beach is also easily reached by a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute motorbike ride. Motorbikes are available for rent at the hotel.

The TS Suites is a beautiful boutique hotel in Seminyak. The hotel is beautiful and luxurious and it will feel like your home away from home. The hotel has an extravagant infinity pool on the rooftop that gives you a great view of Seminyak. Their are sunbathing chairs in side the pool as well so you can actually tan in the pool- how cool is that.

The TS Suites truly caters to all your wishes. The rooms are big and spacey. My room had a separate shower + bath tub with a moveable wall so I could create the bathroom if I wanted it or keep the sliding doors open to create more space. My room also had a big lounging bed + a flatscreen TV. All the furniture, including the closets, desk and bed were new and in mintcondition.

Oh, and how bad ass is this, one of the coolest clubs in Bali, JENJA is part of the TS Suites hotel! Check out the club here : JENJA!

While staying in the hotel you get free access to this awesome place! Unfortunately during my stay the club was closed so I did not go this time, but trust me, I have been to Jenja many times before and it is an evening full of fun and good times guarenteed!

There is a big restaurant upstairs at the same level as the rooftop pool + SPA! The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch. There is a daily all you can eat lunch buffet (not included) and you can also chose to have lunch a la carte.

If you eat too much food and you want to work your body- just go to the gym that is overlooking the infinity pool. Yes you have read that correctly, you can work your body till your sweating and than jump in the pool to cool off! Of course, before taking a quick shower that is 🙂

The pool is magnificant. The infinity pool is one of the best that I have seen so far. It is quite large for a rooftop pool with plenty of sun beds to tan on. Some even in the water, which is pretty darn cool!

The hotel also offers a shuttle service for pickups and drop offs from/to the airport or any other destination that you have to go. Just ask one of the friendly staffmembers for assistance.

The staff in general were really nice. Everyone always took the time to greet you and to wish you a great day ahead. Also, everyone always checked if they could help you with anything- if that is not A+ service, I don’t know what is.

Upstairs you also have the entertainment area with a pooltable and even a library where you can rent some books. I had some interesting reads and it is a nice area to just take a step back and relax with a Bali Guide for example.

I would definitely highly recommend this hotel for any luxury lover. The hotel is suitable for young and older couples, friends and businesstrips. The hotel can also accommodate for families as they have a playground area and therefor is childfriendly too.

Let’s be honest, in the time we live in currently it is important that a hotel is very Instagram worthy. And yes, the TS suites is definitely this. It has plenty of cool places, design furniture in the lobby, a very big and spacious courtyard where you can photo shoot for hours. Just take a look at some of my fave places in the hotel:

I had an amazing time at the TS Suites in Bali! The pick up service was great. My driver was super friendly and talkative and gave me great information about the hotel upon arrival. Once I entered the hotel I was amazed. The hobby is very grand and beautiful. You have several sitting area’s with different designs which makes it a great spot to Instagram away 🙂 The open lobby leads to the beautiful courtyard where you can sit back and relax and get away from the Seminyak crowdiness and traffic.

The room I stayed in was very spacious. The sliding walls that separated the Bathroom from the Bedroom were great. I could create some privacy if needed. I could also watch the telly from the bath tub and thank god they have E! Entertainment ..haha… so yes, I had some relaxing moments too where I could catch up with my celebrity gossip.

The food was great. The breakfast was very big with a great variety in juices and food. Both Western as Asian food were served. You could also create your own egg or pancake, or well, with the help of the chef! So enough yummyumm in the tumm tumm.

I have not entered the Spa ( I know, for me this is weird) so I can not tell you about that since I have not experienced it here but I can tell you that the food on the a la carte lunch menu is great. I had the mie goreng (fried noodles) and it was authenically Indonesian!
I probably spend most of my time tanning on the rooftop pool. There is just something that infinity pools do to me. While swimming and overlooking the view I always get lost in my thoughts .. I really liked the vibe of this pool and the view was beyond amazing. I also went to the gym 3 times. The fitness instructor even offered to give me pilates sessions but I did not try these. Judging by his stories it would have been wonderful though, so I will definitely try it next time!

Will I stay here again? Definitely!
Can I recommend the hotel? For sure!

Met Aziatische landen ben ik goed bekend, ask me anything, I will tell you everything!

Excuse you?

Come on peeps, zeg gewoon fuckbuddy, of sexvriendje.

5 most frequently asked questions that Travel Bloggers get- and the answers to them!

Hi lovelies!

Today I wanted to share the top 5 questions I as a travel blogger get asked the most through my social media channels. I know a lot of my fellow travel bloggers will get the same questions too but my answers can differ from theirs so today I will share my answers to your top 5 Q’s!

1.  How do you afford to travel the world?
If I got get a dollar for every time I got asked this question I would be a freaking millionaire now and you would have your answer directly! Haha. But unfortunately that is not the case. I can guarantee you that every travel blogger gets that question at least once a day through IG, Twitter, FB or what ever platform they might use the most. I know that this answer is different for everyone but I can share mine. My travels are paid 50% my myself and 50% by sponsoring. I got some great deals with great brands that allow me to travel for free. I used to blog fulltime but I do not do this at the moment. I actually have a fulltime job that helps me to safe for my travels too and I travel whenever I can. Every free moment I have is either spend online, looking for new destinations to go to or by heading to the airport to jump on the plane for my next adventure!

2.  Isn’t it lonely to be a solo traveler?
You perhaps expect the answer to be ‘Yes‘ but it really is not. For me solo traveling is freedom. I like to go wherever I want, when ever I want and being able to meet new people all day every day. I am actually never lonely on my travels. I am very talkative and I am a very social person and I meet people all the time. There are some moments where I chose to be alone because I love to spend some time with myself too but that does not make me ‘lonely’.

3.  Is it safe to travel by yourself?
Definitely a yes for this question. I do not understand why people are afraid to travel alone. The world is a beautiful place and you should go out and discover it. Of course there are some places where you might should not go by your self but as long as you trust your instances you will be perfectly fine. Do not do random weird things like walking alone in dark alleys in the middle of the night, but let’s be honest, would you do that in your own hometown? Probably not. I think that if you plan your trip accordingly and you respect the rules, norms and values of the city/country that you are in that you will have an amazing time!

4.  Aren’t you tired of living out of a suitcase?
No, hell no! I love living out of a suitcase. Being a travelblogger has taught me that I do not need as much as I think I do. I can definitely survive with 1 lipstick, perhaps 2 if I go on a weektrip. I do not need 10 different kind of shades. Haha. I love living out of a suitcase because because you can only bring a limited amount of stuff you get more creative and you develop great organizing skills which you can use in other aspects of your life as well!

5.  What is your favorite travel destination?
If you know me at all, than you would not need me to answer this question. Bali baby! Bali all the way. I am in love with the lsland, the people, the culture, the beaches, the food and well, basically everything. Bali has everything to offer that you can imagine. Great scenery’s, mountains, volcano’s, nature, beaches, luxury at an affordable price, great people. I can definitely recommend you to visit Bali! And if you do, let me know, I will send you some tips.

What is the one question that people ask you the most?

Review: Luxury Resort The Edge | Bali | Indonesia

Schermafbeelding 2015-10-15 om 00.25.30Bali probably has the most beautiful collection of luxury,  boutique en design hotels and villa’s in the entire world. One complex is more beautiful and luxurious than the other and it is my job to take you on a journey through these beautiful resorts. I want you to see all these beautiful places so we can get lost together. I have the privilege of staying in these places and it gives me great joy to share my moments with you.

Today I will be sharing my experience about my stay at The Edge in Bali.
The Edge is part of the Mesa hotels and resorts and I must say, from all the places I have ever stayed in, this is by far the best place so far. The Edge is in it’s league of it’s own. Nothing can compare to the beauty and luxury of this resort. Everything is impeccable.

From the 24/7 personal butler services, to the treatments at their own private Spa. From the delicious haute cuisine menu to the million dollar views you have from every angle. The Edge is definitely the place to be if you enjoy only the best things in life.

At the Edge nothing is impossible. You want something? They will make it happen for you. I was highly impressed with the service even before I arrived at the venue. I was in touch with my personal butler by email before my arrival to set everything up. From the type of pillow that I preferred to the Spa menu that was send so I could see what treatment I preferred. (A full review on this will follow) – Oh, even the welcome drink was prepared because I could let them know in advance which one I wanted. – Perfection!

LOCATION- How to get there
The Edge is set within the traditional village of Pecatu. This might not be the most familiar place in Bali for the travels so let’s just say that it is a 5 minute drive from Uluwatu and approximately a 35 minute drive from Ngurah Rai Airport.  It is very easy to reach the resort because the Edge offers a complimentary transfer and pickup service. This transfer is done by a driver and your personal butler will accompany you for the trip. When I was picked up from my hotel in Uluwatu to bring me to the Edge I was picked up in a luxury vehicle. Directly upon entering the vehicle the butler introduced himself and gave me great information about the venue. What I also absolutely adored was that while driving towards the resort the butler showed me a presentation with lots of beautiful pictures of the venue on the iPad while offering me water, a refreshing towel and some chocolates- Yes, the million dollar treatment started from the get go!

The Edge is build literally on ‘The Edge’ making it one of the highest points in Bali where I have ever been. Because you are on this ‘Edge’ you will have a fantastic view overlooking the clear blue ocean and trust me while I say that it is the perfect spot for pink sky sunsets!

The edge is the perfect location because from there you can go everywhere. Just ask your butler for tips and he will give you all the ins and outs about Bali. You can easily go to a beautiful beach like Dreamland in Jimbaran or have a golf session in Nusa Dua. Every place is easy to reach from the Edge because even though it might be a bit of a drive, your butler will take good care of you and make sure you will reach there in all comfort!

At the Edge it is all about quality and not about quantity. You can see that in everything. The villa resort is so exclusive that it ‘only’ has 3 villa’s.
The Mood ( a 2 bedroom Villa)
The Cliff   ( a 3 bedroom Villa)
The View  ( a 5 bedroom Villa)

I had the pleasure and honor to stay in the 5 bedroom villa that can accommodate 10 people. But more about that later on.
Even though all the villa’s come with their own private swimming pool (some with several swimming pools) there is also a common area where you can take a dip or have a tanning session while enjoying a cocktail that is freshly made by one of the fantastic staff members. This common area is connected to the Spa

THE VIEW- The villa I have stayed in
I stayed in the 5 bedroom villa named ‘The View”. When you enter the villa you will understand why it is called ‘The View’. When you go outside, on your private terrace where you have not one, but 2 swimming pools you will see the most magnificent views that you have ever seen, overlooking Bali, also known as the Island of the Gods. The view of the ocean is incredibly beautiful. Just for a moment you will forget all the bad things in your life because the beauty of the villa and it’s views are so incredibly beautiful.

The villa has 2 floors. The top floor has 2 master bedrooms. Both with their own million dollar view. The windows from the floor to the ceiling will create the best morning view you will ever have. When you wake up you will see the clear blue sky and the ocean. You will immediately feel that you are in paradise. Oh, and if that won’t do the trick for you, you will have palm trees in your own garden too.

All the rooms are beautifully decorated and you will see the Eastern world fuse with the Western world. It has all the luxuries from the Western standards but with beautiful Asian and Balinese details. All the details in the villa are definitely the ‘best of both worlds’.

On the ground floor you also have the kitchen area and the living room. The living room comes with a big comfortable couch and again, you will have a fantastic view of the scenery. And perhaps you would like to play some piano? This is also not a problem because the living room comes with it’s own piano so you can let all your musical talent out and create some lovely tunes!

The huge dining table is perfect to host your family dinner. Since the villa can fit up to 10 people this big dining table is just perfect. It is beautiful and luxurious.

On the Lower Ground Floor, because ‘basement’ just does not sound right while talking about this luxury villa, you will have 3 other bedrooms. All the bedrooms come with their own bathroom including a shower and a bath tub. Downstairs you also have a living area and even a wine celler.

2 highlights from this Lower Ground Floor area are the home cinema where you can watch your favorite movie in your own private theatre and the kids playroom. The playroom comes with the best toys ( I even fell in love with Mr. Teddy :)) and the best games like a nintendo, wii, playstation and so on. All the toys are renewed every 3 months so you can be sure that you will have great new toys to play with (or let your kids play with).

Kissy Kissy!

FOOD AND BEVERAGES-  Fantastic food and delicious drinks
At the edge they offer only the best things so you can imagine what this means for the food and drinks. The most delicious meals you will ever have in your life will be in this place, I can guarantee you that. They have a menu where they offer a big variety of food. From local dishes to Western food- there is something on the menu for everyone. They also do offer personalized menu’s  and again, whatever you want, your butler will make sure you will have it.

The delicious lamb chops!

Funny anecdote: While we got the tour through the villa the manager told us that he once had guests that preferred Scottish salmon. But let’s be honest, where will you find Scottish salmon in Bali? You just don’t. So they flew it in. Just for this one guest and his company. If that isn’t top notch service I do not know what is. (of course this service has it’s own price tag but hey, nothing is impossible :))

I have tried so many things from the menu but I must say I have found my love in the lychee cocktail, the grilled lamb chops and the creme brûlée was the best one I ever had. And trust me, I have tasted my fave dessert in over 20 different places but the one in the Edge is just sublime.

Creme brule? Creme bruYAY!

FOR WHO?- Should you stay in the Edge?
YES YES AND YES- You definitely should if you ever have the chance. The Edge is a beautiful resort that caters to all your dreams and wishes. Because The Edge offers 3 different villa’s it is suitable for a large target audience but you must love only the best things in life. The Edge is focussed on the luxury traveler, the city expats that are looking for their sweet island escapes and it won’t surpass you that they also cater to celebs from over the entire world. Fredrik, are you the next celeb that will stay here? I thinks so! You belong here honey!

The resort is perfect for a romantic getaway or even a corporate trip. If you are going on a teambuilding trip please look in to this lovely resort since you can rent the entire property too and this will be the best place for you to stay, I can guarantee you this.

If you are visiting with your family it is perfect too. I would recommend you to stay in the villa ‘The View’ because you will have plenty of space and a kids playroom and home theatre so there will be entertainment for all.

The villa is so amazing, I don’t think you would want to leave it ever again…

Some beautiful visuals:

Review: Kamandalu Resort || Ubud || Indonesia

Hi lovelies,

So today is an exciting day. Review 1 of my Bali trip is online! Since I have lived in Bali before I know all the hotspots and best cities to visit. I will dedicate another post to that so I can share all my insider tips with you guys!

Today I will take you to the lovely city of Ubud. Ubud is a beautiful city in Bali that is known for the beautiful green nature and rice paddy’s. It also has the most beautiful villa’s and resorts to relax after a day well spend discovering the beauty of Ubud.

I was invited to stay for 2 nights in the beautiful Kamandalu Resort and looking back, I am very happy I took this assignment.

The Kamandalu Resort is probably one of Ubud’s best resorts!

The Kamandalu Resort is like ‚Little Ubud within Ubud itself’- The resort almost feels like a little village with a bunch of villa’s surrounded by the beauty of the Nature. The Kamandalu Ubud is a 5 star boutique resort that will make you feel like you are in Bali due to the traditional Balinese style villa’s but with all the luxuries that you could possibly think of and this all while being surrounded by rice paddies and tropical green forests.

The Kamandalu has 6 villa types as you can see in the picture down below.
I had the pleasure to stay in the Pool Villa. Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 22.48.47

But let’s start at the beginning. When I arrived I was escorted to the front desk. I thought that this was the place where I would check in. The first thing I noticed was the openness of the lobby.lobbyIt is very big and spacious and you immediately get a luxury vibe. I handed the lovely lady at the frontdesk my passport and when she looked up my reservation she saw that I was staying at one of the „Pool Villa’s”.
She told me that due to my accommodation type, the check in would be at the private lounge and she escorted us downstairs to the V.I.P lounge called the “Village Club’. Here we were greeted by our butler. He offered us our welcome drink and gave us all the information that we would need during our trip. He explained that this private V.I.P lounge was for all the guests that were staying in the villa’s You could come here and enjoy complimentary thee, coffee and fruits during the entire day and you were entitled of one complimentary drink such as a delicious cocktail during the day.

Schermafbeelding 2015-09-15 om 12.23.13 After receiving all the information we were guided to our villa. I noticed how big this complex actually is and that there are a lot of villa’s at the resort. It really felt like walking in a village, passing all the doors of the gardens where the villa’s were located. We passed the main pool that was open for all guests and also the infinity pool. After a 5 minute walk we got to our Villa.

THE BEDROOM:Schermafbeelding 2015-09-15 om 12.23.27The butler opened the door to our little complex where our villa was located and walked towards the door of our villa. When he opened the door and I walked in I was amazed. It looked so beautiful! When you walk in, directly at your right side you have the closed with a safe and the minibar. The butler explained that all the items that were currently in the minibar would be complimentary but all the refills would be chargeable. There were 10 drinks in total that were complimentary.

4 waters, 2 coke’s, 1 diet coke, one tonic and 2 bintang beers. There were also some complimentary snacks such as honey roasted peanuts and kit kat chocolate bars!

Directly in front of the front door and left of the minibar there is a table with a big mirror where you could fix your hair and make up before leaving the villa.

On the left side of the very spacious room was the beautiful bed located. What I loved about this room is that they kept the traditional Bali vibe alive while still creating a luxury vibe.

THE BATHROOM:Schermafbeelding 2015-09-15 om 12.26.45
The bathroom was gorgeous. I loved the big bathtub in the midst of the bathroom, one where you could take a bath and also be able to watch outside and enjoy your lovely private pool. There was a double sink, kind of like a ‚his and hers’ one and the bathroom was very spacious. The toilet is also located in the bathroom and is separated by a small wall from the sink area. What I also loved is that they had an outside rain shower. Taking a shower outside, in the middle of the night amongst the stars is definitely something you should try at least ones.

Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 21.52.02The garden was fantastic. We had our own private pool and also a bengong ( A traditional outdoor day bed). Chilling and relaxing in your bengong while overlooking the tropical forrest felt like a dream come true. The walk through the water to the bengong was amazing. I thought that this was a very clever way of creating a tropical environment. Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 21.54.37

Beside having your own private pool (That all the villa’s have besides the Garden Villa), the resort also has 2 pools that are available for all the guests. Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 22.05.01The main pool with a cool bar in the pool, yes you have read that right and also a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the nature!

My Summer (ish) Travel Plans – 7 countries in 2,5 months!

Hey Lovelies,

How are you today? I am currently in Antwerp, the city where I live since the past months and it is raining so hard that I had no other choice than to sit behind my laptop and write this post. Haha.

I am sorry for being a bit m.i.a lately but it does not mean that I was not busy working really hard behind the scenes. I have a lot of exciting projects coming up and collaborations that I can not wait to share with you guys. So I will share a little bit today..

Get your hot cup of choco and snuggle up on the couch so we can go through this list together.

08cb4349f5e04d2192cd6987170647a2The European summer, that lasts from about early june till the end of august is perhaps almost over (well, judging by the weather now, it really is over) but that does not mean that the traveling should stop. I have 6 exciting trips coming up and I am still waiting for 3 to be confirmed so it will be a very busy time but I can not wait to take you with me on this journey.

So where will I actually be going?
In chronicle order:
1. Bali
2. Brussels
3. Dublin
4. Stockholm
5. Porto
6. Oslo
7. London

These trips are all planned within the coming 2.5 months. It will be an exciting challenge to visit all these beautiful cities while running my website, doing my freelance work and working a fulltime job but I am up for it.
I can not wait to share all my posts about these trips with you guys and all the pictures that I will take with my new camera that I have received to review….

Which one do you think I got?
Review will be up this week!

+ A little sneak peak in 2 of the places I will stay to review:
