#DGTravelbabe Cigdem:

Hi, My name is Cigdem! Probably a difficult name for you to pronounce, haha. Try saying ‘Chi damn’ – Got it? Okay! Good ūüôā
I am the creator and founder of Dobe Globe. I created Dobe Globe so we could have a platform where we could be awesome together. I love to travel and I want to see as much of our beautiful globe as I can. I have am Dutch girl with international roots from all over the globe and I lived for a long time between Europe and Asian and became a true ‘Eurasian’. Last year I moved back to Europe and I settled in Antwerp where I live with my pet (stuffed animal) cat. #foreveralone.¬†
I am a travel journalist by heart and a professional photographer and I combine those two things at my website. I am a Asia Specialist and a little piece of my heart (or well, a big chunk) will always belong to Bali.
I am a luxury travel specialist and I love to do hotelreviews and take you with me along my journey through everything lush and luxurious !

You can follow my journey through my Instagram*!

#DGTravelbabe Veera Bianca:

“I am one of the wanderlusters with an endless urge to roam the globe, better known as Veera Bianca. My journey in to the world of travel blogging and social media started on a horse farm in the countryside of Australia back in 2006. Since that adventure, life has never been the same. I am not the kind to stay in one place for too long, I need adventure and I live for landing to new places. Since then I’ve returned to Australia several times, studied a degree in tourism, lived in Hong Kong, worked at an airport, volunteered in India and turned my travel blog into a business. These day’s I work as a Community Lead for a fab travel app CreateTrips here in Finland, write my blog and do some freelance writing for Expedia Singapore and Matador Network. My work takes me around the world – I’m actually writing this to you from Helsinki Airport!

I am madly passionate about inspiring people to go travel and to dare to live. To do what their heart beats for.”

#DGTravelbabe Brooke:

Hi РI’m Brooke, one half of The Nomadic Newlyweds! I’m a storyteller and a photographer… I’ve always loved finding life’s hidden treasures Рwhether it’s park with an incredible view of the landscape on foreign soil or the culinary stylings of an up-and-coming chef in a tiny restaurant tucked away in my own home town.

Viewing the world through a different lens helps me bring a creative and aesthetic edge to my travel content. Having kept adventure journals since childhood, it’s a joyful undertaking to now document my experiences as a young wife, traveler and entrepreneur online Рas a way of inspiring others to live fully!
I’m fascinated with the depth and heritage of every culture and I’m energized by meeting people and capturing their joy, their pain and their beings on film and through written word. I believe we find ourselves, we grow and we take flight when we experience life outside our comfort zones.
I’m on a quest to live life to the fullest, tasting the flavor of life with my husband as we surround ourselves with like-minded dreamers all over the globe!
XO,
B
#DGTravelbabe Carey:
Hi y’all! The name is Carey, but you can call me CareBear. I am an American, southern belle at heart, currently living in Prague, Czech Republic teaching English. But you can really just call me a traveling addict ( with no need for an intervention)¬†

I have been happily infected with an incurable case of Wanderlust. In September of 2013 I took a last spontaneous¬†trip to Croatia on a whim that changed my life. There is always those things you¬†want to do, but you’re scared and fearful, and then something just clicks in your brain and it all seems right in that very distinct moment. That’s exactly what this trip did to me. I felt I was already living the dream.¬† I was happy living in Newport Beach, California with a great job and a great life. But I always wanted MORE, and questioned myself, could I be even MORE happier? Traveling makes me happy, really, really happy. Whenever I return from a trip I could never explain the feeling to someone who doesn’t travel. So I decided to take a trip where I didn’t have to “return” anywhere. Booked my one way ticket to Europe, and here I am almost two years later.¬† I haven’t ¬†regretted one decision I’ve made…… well, maybe that one night in ..ahhh…nevermind…thats another story for another time. 44 countries down, countless plane/train/bus rides later…. and still plenty more to explore.¬†

The moment I step off of a train, bus, plane, boat… into a new foreign place my heart skips a beat. That feeling is what I thrive and live for. I truly believe in¬†inspiring¬†others¬†and my mission is to help others to do what you love, whatever that may be! Yep, cliche, I know..but it is the truth. I started off with social media outlets to keep my friends and family updated, little did I know that others were interested in my story and following along my journey.¬† Fun videos, Vlogging, and Pictures are my¬†preferred¬†creative outlet to share my¬†stories so you can truly feel connected and see these experiences through my eyes and share the real emotions of what traveling does to your soul.¬†

Peace and love, Carebear

Hello world! I am originally from Washington, DC, USA, and I am proud to say that I am a travel addict. I caught the travel bug in 2006 on my very first overseas trip to Italy. It was somewhere I had always dreamt about and it turned out to be better than I ever imagined! I became so fascinated with the lifestyle, the architecture, the history, and the people. It opened my eyes up to the world and I left wanting more. As soon as I returned home, I immediately started planning my trip back! I realised that there is so much more world and culture to experience than the small bubble I had been living in my whole life. A fire was ignited inside me and I became so passionate about seeing everything else this beautiful world has to offer. Since then, my life has been completely centered around traveling and I have been to 44 countries! !

I started a blog recently just to document and share my experiences. Even if no one ever reads it, it doesn’t matter because it will be like a diary that I can look back on one day to remember all these fascinating places I have been and the stories that came from them. I never anticipated it, but it has become like a creative outlet for me, a release that makes me really happy. It‚Äôs like my baby and I cannot wait to put more time into it and share so many more of my crazy adventures with everyone! If I can inspire just one person to finally get over their fears and start to travel, then I‚Äôll die a happy girl.¬†!

The name CrazyTravelista developed from several years of my friends and family calling me crazy every time I told them about yet another trip I had planned. Before I would go on that trip, I would plan the next trip so I would have something to look forward to when I got back. I sold my car, most of my expensive belongings, and have lived a more simple life the last few years. All so I could travel more. Crazy, huh? Maybe a little, but it’s my number one passion in life and I have never had anything make me feel more alive than when I’m traveling. !

I must say that I am extremely touched by how supportive and encouraging the female travel community has been throughout all this. It seems everyone is trying to help one another and it’s really empowering and inspiring to see females working together in such an unselfish way. I am very blessed to be apart of it. Hopefully we can inspire more girls to get out there and see the world for themselves! !

You can follow along on my adventures on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat at @crazytravelista and on my blog at www.crazytravelista.com. Happy traveling! !

So that is our lovely team. We will bring you the best travel articles, reviews, tips and tricks next year so buckle up, we are coming for you!
But for now, a merry xmas my loves and keep on traveling!

xoxo, team #DGTravelbabes

Schermafbeelding 2015-11-15 om 19.49.34Jack Morris is the face behind the amazingly inspiring Instagram account @DOYOUTRAVEL. If I could ever chose to go on a date with a fellow traveler it would be this guy. He is such a big inspiration for me, not just because he travels a lot like I do too, but the way he knows how to capture the exact moment that makes a picture just fantastic. He is such a talented photographer and movie maker (check out his YT channel too). From Bali to Thailand, from Europe to the US- He has seen it all and he captures all the great moments for us.

4. @MURADOSMANNSchermafbeelding 2015-11-15 om 19.58.38Oh my, where to start with this account. This account is everything. #relationshipgoals, #travelgoals, #awesomepeople.
If you have about 3,5 million followers on IG you must be doing something right, right?
They have started the trend where couples take pictures, holding hands, where you only see the girl from the back and the guys hand holding her. The pictures focus more on the view than on the people in it. Well okay, in their case it is a bit different because Nataly is always as equally stunning as the background but still. They visit the most beautiful places and Murad is definitely a fantastic photographer. He captures his wife and the background in the most beautiful way and that truly makes his Instagram account an inspiring one!

Follow the Adventures of Murad and his beautiful wife Nataly at his Instagram!

5.  @SJANAELISESchermafbeelding 2015-11-15 om 20.08.03
This Australian beauty of only 20 years old with currently 1 million IG followers has truly a gorgeous gallery. Her Instagram is not just about traveling but she posts pictures of herself doing yoga and eating healthy meals too. This fun and bubbly girl inspires me in many ways. Even though we are almost a decade apart in age (omg, I feel so old now) I think she is a good example of how to live your life in your twenties. She has this young, wild and free vibe all over her and she comes across as a happy and strong individual who tries to live her life to the fullest! Girl, you are doing an amazing job! And for those that are not following her yet, visit her page, you will love her!

Girl Solo Travels – 5 tips from a female travelblogger to start with solo travels!

Hey lovelies,

This post is for all my ladies out there. Yea you girl! I wrote this post specially for you because I want to inspire you. I want to trigger something inside you to do the thing that I love to do the most: TRAVEL!

If you have never solo traveled before but you want to see if it might be something for you too take these 5 steps and allow me to guide you through it!

1.  TAKE A CITY SOLO TRIP FIRST
Before packing your backpack and traveling to the other side of the world, go out there and test the waters a bit. See if solo traveling is something for you. Pick a destination close to home so it will still feel same for you, jump on a plane and just go there. Start with just a long weekend and see how you feel. Of course you can not compare 3-5 days with 3-5 months but you will get a good feeling and vibe of the ‘traveling alone’ part. Based on that feeling you can decide if that is something you would like to pursue a bit more.

2. PICK YOUR ACCOMMODATION
When you are out there on the road you often don’t have the luxury of ‘planning’ everything in advance. For your first solo travel I will definitely recommend you to at least plan everything you can plan about this trip in advance. Your planning skills will be well tested while being out on the road so let’s see how you do this. When looking for an accommodation read online reviews. Not everyone has the luxury to stay in expensive hotels but there are really good and affordable hostels out there as well. The one that I have recently stayed in, The Generator in Dublin¬†was amazing. They even only had an all female dorm room what creates a safer environment if you are a lady traveler out on your first solo travel. Chose an accommodation and just go for it!

3.  MAKE A DAY PLANNING
Have you researched the city that you are going too?  Do you know where to go to once you got there. Do you know what you want to do when you visit the city? Perhaps a museum or a shopping street. Get a map and a notebook and write down all the things you want to do and how to get there. If you are prepared you will feel more comfortable with your self and your solo traveling skills. Of course you do not have to do everything that you have on your schedule but it often helps when you have an idea on what you can do and how to go there.

4.  WHEN THE SPONTANIOUSITY KICKS IN, SURRENDER TO IT!
Spontaniousity- is that even a word? I do not thinks so. Haha. But you get my point right. I recommended you to make a planning in pointer 3 because what I often notice when I talk to first time solo travelers is that they go to a destination and they don’t have a clue on what to actually do there and than the fear kicks in and they feel unsafe. If you have a planning and you know what you could do, it will give you some relieve. Often what you will have during solo traveling, is the pleasure of meeting random people. Be open to that and let things happen. If someone invites you to join for an event later say YES! Who know what kind of great experiences you will have and what kind of new people you will meet!
*Please always be careful though, when someone invites you to their home and you don’t know that person well, don’t do it. Always trust your gut and your instinct. But when it is at a public event, a cafe or a bar, do it! You will be pleasantly surprised.¬†

5. WHEN SOMETHING DOES NOT FEEL RIGHT, DON’T DO IT
Always be safe. Solotraveling is fun, not scary. It will allow you to get to know your self in ways you never could when you just stay in your own save little environment back home. You will develop some serious James Bond’ish skills and you will learn how to take care of your self because you are the only person out there that takes care of you on your trips. Always trust your instincts and when something does not feel right, don’t do it.

If you follow these 5 steps I am sure you will have a great first impression on what solo traveling is and feels like. I am so curious on how you will experience your first solo experience. Have you ever solo traveled before? How was that for you?

5 most frequently asked questions that Travel Bloggers get- and the answers to them!

Hi lovelies!

Today I wanted to share the top 5 questions I as a travel blogger get asked the most through my social media channels. I know a lot of my fellow travel bloggers will get the same questions too but my answers can differ from theirs so today I will share my answers to your top 5 Q’s!

1.  How do you afford to travel the world?
If I got get a dollar for every time I got asked this question I would be a freaking millionaire now and you would have your answer directly! Haha. But unfortunately that is not the case. I can guarantee you that every travel blogger gets that question at least once a day through IG, Twitter, FB or what ever platform they might use the most. I know that this answer is different for everyone but I can share mine. My travels are paid 50% my myself and 50% by sponsoring. I got some great deals with great brands that allow me to travel for free. I used to blog fulltime but I do not do this at the moment. I actually have a fulltime job that helps me to safe for my travels too and I travel whenever I can. Every free moment I have is either spend online, looking for new destinations to go to or by heading to the airport to jump on the plane for my next adventure!

2. ¬†Isn’t it lonely to be a solo traveler?
You perhaps expect the answer to be ‘Yes‘ but it really is not. For me solo traveling is freedom. I like to go wherever I want, when ever I want and being able to meet new people all day every day. I am actually never lonely on my travels. I am very talkative and I am a very social person and I meet people all the time. There are some moments where I chose to be alone because I love to spend some time with myself too but that does not make me ‘lonely’.¬†

3.  Is it safe to travel by yourself?
Definitely a yes for this question. I do not understand why people are afraid to travel alone. The world is a beautiful place and you should go out and discover it. Of course there are some places where you might should not go by your self but as long as you trust your instances you will be perfectly fine. Do not do random weird things like walking alone in dark alleys in the middle of the night, but let’s be honest, would you do that in your own hometown? Probably not. I think that if you plan your trip accordingly and you respect the rules, norms and values of the city/country that you are in that you will have an amazing time!

4. ¬†Aren’t you tired of living out of a suitcase?
No, hell no! I love living out of a suitcase. Being a travelblogger has taught me that I do not need as much as I think I do. I can definitely survive with 1 lipstick, perhaps 2 if I go on a weektrip. I do not need 10 different kind of shades. Haha. I love living out of a suitcase because because you can only bring a limited amount of stuff you get more creative and you develop great organizing skills which you can use in other aspects of your life as well!

5.  What is your favorite travel destination?
If you know me at all, than you would not need me to answer this question. Bali baby! Bali all the way. I am in love with the lsland, the people, the culture, the beaches, the food and well, basically everything. Bali has everything to offer that you can imagine. Great scenery’s, mountains, volcano’s, nature, beaches, luxury at an affordable price, great people. I can definitely recommend you to visit Bali! And if you do, let me know, I will send you some tips.

What is the one question that people ask you the most?

How to pack your suitcase like a boss!

lv suitcseHey Lovelies!

How are all of you doing? I am doing great. I am lying in bed, typing this post for you guys as I my mind is taking a trip on it’s own. Saturday my big Euro Trip will start.

4 Countries, 8 cities, 10 days- Can I do this thing? Sure I can! It will be a very fun trip and I can not wait to see, discover and explore.

I will start my trip in Madrid and I will continue to Malaga, Barcelona, Rome, Munchen, Berlin, Nice and Paris. I can not wait to see these cities as a lot of them I have not seen before. I am originally from Holland but since I lived in Asia and traveled a lot in especially South East Asia, I currently am more of an expert on that continent. But that is about to change. 2015 has brought me already so many lovely travels and trips like my most recents from the past month: Porto in Portugal and Dublin in Ireland. Both cities/countries I have not visited up until last month.

Due to all these travels I have developed an amazing ‘fast packing skill technique that today I will share with you all so you, just like myself, can ‘Pack like a boss too’ !

1. Where are you going? – Understand your destination
It is very important that you understand your destination. Are you going to a sunny destination or to a colder destination. What will you need? Make a mental moodboard of all the stuff you need and than you will continue to the next step;

2. Make lists – preparation is everything.
The common mistake that people make is to skip this step. Why waste time on writing down everything that you have to pack right? Wrong! It might take you an extra 15 minutes but after that it is quite easy. It is like having your grocery list while walking in the supermarket. You can walk down every aisle and just get all the products you need and put them in your shopping cart. The same with traveling. Lists will be your best friend.

3. Toiletry bags and plastic containers are your best friend- Organize your stuff!
I always organize my stuff. And you should do it too. Put everything in a bag or container of it’s own in the category it belongs too. For example:
Keep all your chargers (Phone, laptop camera) in one toiletry bag (yes they are meant for your make up but why not use them for other purposes? They are so handy!
Also have a separate bag for your bra’s and undies. When you arrive at your location it is so much easier to find anything and you won’t have to look for hours for that one favorite pair of knickers.

4. Pack smart- treat your suitcase like it is a Tetris Game
Remember playing Tetris when you were a kid? Or well, if you are like me you probably played it somewhere this week. haha. The point of the game is to fit everything together perfectly in straight rows- that will give you the perfect score. And that is kind of the same thing as packing your suitcase. You want to get as much in as you can and you do not want to wase space. You already made a smart choice by organizing your categories in separate bags as mentioned in step 3. Now it is time to place all the containers and toiletry bags neatly in your suitcase. The best way to pack your suitcase is to fill both halves. Some people just stash everything in one side and than flap the over over it and they are like-done. This way you can actually pack less and you do not use your suitcase to it’s full advantage. When you pack both halves and you separate them by a carton board (if your suitcase does not come with it’s own board you can use a flat carton board, a very cheap solution to create more space in your luggage and keep it well organized) you will see that you have a better overview of what goes where and you will use the capacity of your suitcase to it’s fullest!

I hope these tips help! What are your best tips?

Review: Luxury Resort The Edge | Bali | Indonesia

Schermafbeelding 2015-10-15 om 00.25.30Bali probably has the most beautiful collection of luxury, ¬†boutique en design hotels and villa’s in the entire world. One complex is more beautiful and luxurious than the other and it is my job to take you on a journey through these beautiful resorts. I want you to see all these beautiful places so we can get lost together. I have the privilege of staying in these places and it gives me great joy to share my moments with you.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Today I will be sharing my experience about my stay at The Edge in Bali.
The Edge is part of the Mesa hotels and resorts and I must say, from all the places I have ever stayed in, this is by far the best place so far. The Edge is in it’s league of it’s own. Nothing can compare to the beauty and luxury of this resort. Everything is impeccable.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

From the 24/7 personal butler services, to the treatments at their own private Spa. From the delicious haute cuisine menu to the million dollar views you have from every angle. The Edge is definitely the place to be if you enjoy only the best things in life.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

At the Edge nothing is impossible. You want something? They will make it happen for you. I was highly impressed with the service even before I arrived at the venue. I was in touch with my personal butler by email before my arrival to set everything up. From the type of pillow that I preferred to the Spa menu that was send so I could see what treatment I preferred. (A full review on this will follow) – Oh, even the welcome drink was prepared because I could let them know in advance which one I wanted. – Perfection!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

LOCATION- How to get there
The Edge is set within the traditional village of Pecatu. This might not be the most familiar place in Bali for the travels so let’s just say that it is a 5 minute drive from Uluwatu and approximately a 35 minute drive from Ngurah Rai Airport. ¬†It is very easy to reach the resort because the Edge offers a complimentary transfer and pickup service. This transfer is done by a driver and your personal butler will accompany you for the trip. When I was picked up from my hotel in Uluwatu to bring me to the Edge I was picked up in a luxury vehicle. Directly upon entering the vehicle the butler introduced himself and gave me great information about the venue. What I also absolutely adored was that while driving towards the resort the butler showed me a presentation with lots of beautiful pictures of the venue on the iPad while offering me water, a refreshing towel and some chocolates- Yes, the million dollar treatment started from the get go!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Edge is build literally on ‘The Edge’ making it one of the highest points in Bali where I have ever been. Because you are on this ‘Edge’ you will have a fantastic view overlooking the clear blue ocean and trust me while I say that it is the perfect spot for pink sky sunsets!

The edge is the perfect location because from there you can go everywhere. Just ask your butler for tips and he will give you all the ins and outs about Bali. You can easily go to a beautiful beach like Dreamland in Jimbaran or have a golf session in Nusa Dua. Every place is easy to reach from the Edge because even though it might be a bit of a drive, your butler will take good care of you and make sure you will reach there in all comfort!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

THE RESORT-
At the Edge it is all about quality and not about quantity. You can see that in everything. The villa resort is so exclusive that it ‘only’ has 3 villa’s.
The Mood ( a 2 bedroom Villa)
The Cliff   ( a 3 bedroom Villa)
The View  ( a 5 bedroom Villa)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I had the pleasure and honor to stay in the 5 bedroom villa that can accommodate 10 people. But more about that later on.
Even though all the villa’s come with their own private swimming pool (some with several swimming pools) there is also a common area where you can take a dip or have a tanning session while enjoying a cocktail that is freshly made by one of the fantastic staff members. This common area is connected to the Spa

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

THE VIEW- The villa I have stayed in
I stayed in the 5 bedroom villa named ‘The View”. When you enter the villa you will understand why it is called ‘The View’. When you go outside, on your private terrace where you have not one, but 2 swimming pools you will see the most magnificent views that you have ever seen, overlooking Bali, also known as the Island of the Gods. The view of the ocean is incredibly beautiful. Just for a moment you will forget all the bad things in your life because the beauty of the villa and it’s views are so incredibly beautiful.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The villa has 2 floors. The top floor has 2 master bedrooms. Both with their own million dollar view. The windows from the floor to the ceiling will create the best morning view you will ever have. When you wake up you will see the clear blue sky and the ocean. You will immediately feel that you are in paradise. Oh, and if that won’t do the trick for you, you will have palm trees in your own garden too.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

All the rooms are beautifully decorated and you will see the Eastern world fuse with the Western world. It has all the luxuries from the Western standards but with beautiful Asian and Balinese details. All the details in the villa are definitely the ‘best of both worlds’.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
On the ground floor you also have the kitchen area and the living room. The living room comes with a big comfortable couch and again, you will have a fantastic view of the scenery. And perhaps you would like to play some piano? This is also not a problem because the living room comes with it’s own piano so you can let all your musical talent out and create some lovely tunes!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
The huge dining table is perfect to host your family dinner. Since the villa can fit up to 10 people this big dining table is just perfect. It is beautiful and luxurious.

On the Lower Ground Floor, because ‘basement’ just does not sound right while talking about this luxury villa, you will have 3 other bedrooms. All the bedrooms come with their own bathroom including a shower and a bath tub. Downstairs you also have a living area and even a wine celler.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

2 highlights from this Lower Ground Floor area are the home cinema where you can watch your favorite movie in your own private theatre and the kids playroom. The playroom comes with the best toys ( I even fell in love with Mr. Teddy :)) and the best games like a nintendo, wii, playstation and so on. All the toys are renewed every 3 months so you can be sure that you will have great new toys to play with (or let your kids play with).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Kissy Kissy!

FOOD AND BEVERAGES-  Fantastic food and delicious drinks
At the edge they offer only the best things so you can imagine what this means for the food and drinks. The most¬†delicious¬†meals you will ever have in your life will be in this place, I can¬†guarantee you that.¬†They have a¬†menu where they offer a big¬†variety of food. From local dishes to Western food- there is something on the menu for everyone. They also do offer personalized menu’s¬†¬†and again, whatever you want, your butler will make sure you will have it.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
The delicious lamb chops!

Funny anecdote: While we got the tour through the villa the manager told us that he once had guests that preferred Scottish¬†salmon. But let’s be honest, where will you find Scottish salmon in Bali? You just don’t. So they flew it in. Just for this one guest and his company. If that isn’t top notch service I do not know what is. (of course this service has it’s own price tag but hey, nothing is impossible :))

I have tried so many things from the menu but I must say I have found my love in the lychee cocktail, the grilled lamb chops and the creme br√Ľl√©e was the best one I ever had. And trust me, I have tasted my fave dessert in over 20 different places but the one in the Edge is just sublime.

Review: Kamandalu Resort || Ubud || Indonesia

Hi lovelies,

So today is an exciting day. Review 1 of my Bali trip is online! Since I have lived in Bali before I know all the hotspots and best cities to visit. I will dedicate another post to that so I can share all my insider tips with you guys!

Today I will take you to the lovely city of Ubud. Ubud is a beautiful city in Bali that is known for the beautiful green nature and rice paddy’s. It also has the most beautiful villa’s and resorts to relax after a day well spend discovering the beauty of Ubud.

I was invited to stay for 2 nights in the beautiful Kamandalu Resort and looking back, I am very happy I took this assignment.

The Kamandalu Resort is probably one of Ubud’s best resorts!

The Kamandalu Resort is like ‚Little Ubud within Ubud itself’- The resort almost feels like a little village with a bunch of villa’s surrounded by the beauty of the Nature. The Kamandalu Ubud is a 5 star boutique resort that will make you feel like you are in Bali due to the traditional Balinese style villa’s but with all the luxuries that you could possibly think of and this all while being surrounded by rice paddies and tropical green forests.

The Kamandalu has 6 villa types as you can see in the picture down below.
I had the pleasure to stay in the Pool Villa. Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 22.48.47

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
But let‚Äôs start at the beginning. When I arrived I was escorted to the front desk. I thought that this was the place where I would check in. The first thing I noticed was the openness of the lobby.lobbyIt is very big and spacious and you immediately get a luxury vibe. I handed the lovely lady at the frontdesk my passport and when she looked up my reservation she saw that I was staying at one of the ‚ÄěPool Villa‚Äôs‚ÄĚ.
She told me that due to my accommodation type, the check in would be at the private lounge and she escorted us downstairs to the V.I.P lounge called the “Village Club’. Here we were greeted by our butler. He offered us our welcome drink and gave us all the information that we would need during our trip. He explained that this private V.I.P lounge was for all the guests that were staying in the villa‚Äôs You could come here and enjoy complimentary thee, coffee and fruits during the entire day and you were entitled of one complimentary drink such as a delicious cocktail during the day.

Schermafbeelding 2015-09-15 om 12.23.13 After receiving all the information we were guided to our villa. I noticed how big this complex actually is and that there are a lot of villa’s at the resort. It really felt like walking in a village, passing all the doors of the gardens where the villa’s were located. We passed the main pool that was open for all guests and also the infinity pool. After a 5 minute walk we got to our Villa.

THE BEDROOM:Schermafbeelding 2015-09-15 om 12.23.27The butler opened the door to our little complex where our villa was located and walked towards the door of our villa. When he opened the door and I walked in I was amazed. It looked so beautiful! When you walk in, directly at your right side you have the closed with a safe and the minibar. The butler explained that all the items that were currently in the minibar would be complimentary but all the refills would be chargeable. There were 10 drinks in total that were complimentary.

4 waters, 2 coke’s, 1 diet coke, one tonic and 2 bintang beers. There were also some complimentary snacks such as honey roasted peanuts and kit kat chocolate bars!

Directly in front of the front door and left of the minibar there is a table with a big mirror where you could fix your hair and make up before leaving the villa.

On the left side of the very spacious room was the beautiful bed located. What I loved about this room is that they kept the traditional Bali vibe alive while still creating a luxury vibe.

THE BATHROOM:Schermafbeelding 2015-09-15 om 12.26.45
The bathroom was gorgeous. I loved the big bathtub in the midst of the bathroom, one where you could take a bath and also be able to watch outside and enjoy your lovely private pool. There was a double sink, kind of like a ‚his and hers’ one and the bathroom was very spacious. The toilet is also located in the bathroom and is separated by a small wall from the sink area. What I also loved is that they had an outside rain shower. Taking a shower outside, in the middle of the night amongst the stars is definitely something you should try at least ones.

THE GARDEN

Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 21.52.02The garden was fantastic. We had our own private pool and also a bengong ( A traditional outdoor day bed). Chilling and relaxing in your bengong while overlooking the tropical forrest felt like a dream come true. The walk through the water to the bengong was amazing. I thought that this was a very clever way of creating a tropical environment. Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 21.54.37

POOLS:
Beside having your own private pool (That all the villa’s have besides the Garden Villa), the resort also has 2 pools that are available for all the guests. Schermafbeelding 2015-09-14 om 22.05.01The main pool with a cool bar in the pool, yes you have read that right and also a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the nature!

Breakfast is served in the restaurant of the resort in the mainbuilding. You can chose to have your breakfast inside or on the terrace where you will enjoy your croissant while enjoying the million dollar view of the rice paddies and tropical forrest.

There is an eggstation and waffle station which is pretty cool because you can get your omelette or waffle that the staff will make especially for you!

There are many healthy choices and and a lot to chose from. The Breakfast at the Kamandalu definitely gets an A+!

You will be able to relax and feel like a million bucks in this beautiful resort with friendly staff to cater to all your wishes. They also organise aqua robic classes so you do not have to worry about getting out of shape during your stay in the resort!

I would recommend this resort for couples as it is the perfect romantic getaway but it is also perfect for a friends vacay.
