Schermafbeelding 2015-01-10 om 19.47.33Hey lovelies! At #TOTD we feature a new traveler that we are impressed with. Someone with a story, someone with a great passion for traveling. We love to inspire        by introducing you to these wanderlusters, these globetrotters from all over the world. We have had featured different nationalities on DOBE GLOBE, people from different backgrounds, different ages…but with 1 big thing in common. The love for traveling. For this edition we have interviewed an amazing 27 year old traveler who has an amazing gallery on Instagram and also her own website where she blogs about her travels! Short message from the Traveler Of The Day!:Schermafbeelding 2015-01-10 om 19.48.31 Hello Adventurers! My name is Denise, I am 27 years young, and currently reside in Seattle, WA, USA. I was born in Mexico but have lived in the Pacific Northwest practically my entire life. No complaints here, though, as it’s such an amazing part of the world! Like many of you, I have an enormous thirst for adventure, and one creative wild heart! You can follow my life stories on my blog, www.ofwildestheart.com, or you can follow me via Instagram @OfWildestHeart, where you can find creative shots from all my adventures. My first real travel experience was a trip to Tahiti, French Polynesia in 2009. I took this trip along with several other University of Washington students as part of a study abroad program. I have always had a very restless personality, but this trip was the spark to my wanderlust that spread like wildfire!LeMeridien_Tahiti The people and culture was what made Tahiti an even more incredible place. Together they taught me the importance of not ever becoming a tourist, to respect everything that feeds us no matter how slight, and to embrace strangers because they would quickly turn into family. Needless to say, my perspective on life made an overall positive change from this single experience. 2.  Which 5 items do you always bring on your travels?tent and campfire Until I venture off to the rest of the world, today I find myself quenching my thirst for travel through local adventure…For now =) My must-have items: 1. A Camera – Whether it be my DSLR, GoPro for all-weather adventures, or my phone, I always bring one of the three. Or all three! However, I make sure to truly take in every moment instead of ‘living through the lens’. 2. Hiking Shoes – …Or any good, sturdy pair of shoes, because adventure strikes at any given time, at any given place! 3. Rain Jacket – Because weather! Rain (or snow) does not keep me from adventuring. Ever. 4. A Tent – Sleeping under billions and billions of stars does wonderful things to the soul. Once you discover this, you will be addicted. Also I don’t ever plan my trips, so a tent comes in very handy when all else fails. 5. Universal Adapter/Converter – For those international travels, this can save the life of your prized gadgets. 3.  Where are you now and where will you go for your next trip?Space_Needle002 I am currently in Seattle, hopping from one mountain to another all throughout the Pacific Northwest! My next international trip will definitely be booked within the next year. I would love to visit New Zealand! But we’ll see where my wild heart takes me next! 😉 4.  What is your dream destination and why?Indonesia Indonesia. There are so many incredibly beautiful spots I’d love to visit, from its beaches to its volcanic lakes, to its temples and its villages. Bali itself would deserve its own trip. I cannot wait to bring my dream to life! Bali2-350x2205.  What is your favorite travel picture that you took and why/what is the story behind it?PaintedHills How to choose just one?! =) Here is a photo from a trip to one of the 7 Wonders of Oregon: The Painted Hills. The photo still literally takes my breath away, as did the place itself, and it reminds me that the most unexpected places (like a desert) can be absolutely beautiful. We just have to give it a chance and have an open heart! Just getting to the Painted Hills was a victory in itself because my car broke down about five hours into the seven-hour drive. However, I was so happy to be on the road, so my car troubles did not bring my spirits down! My car somehow survived a road trip from Seattle to Painted Hills to Crater Lake (another one of the 7 Wonders of Oregon) and back to Seattle. Check out my blog for lots more photos and lots more adventures! 6.  If you could take 3 celeb travel buddies on your next trip, who would they be and why? I’m not one to look up to celebrities. In fact, I cannot think of anyone I’d actually want to bring with me (except my favorite travel buddy – my boyfriend – who is hardly a celebrity. Haha!)Sunset-Tree-Rumi But if we could bring Rumi back to life, I’d bring him! Seeing the world through his eyes is absolute magic, and his words are such an inspiration to me. This world needs more ‘Rumis’. 7.  Are you a backpacker or a flash packer? And what was the best backpack/flashback accommodation where you have ever stayed?TahitiCompoundView I am definitely into budget traveling. I don’t think money should ever be something that keeps you from having an amazing travel adventure. The best accommodation I’ve ever had, besides my tent under the stars, was the cute little beach compound we stayed in Tahiti. It was private-owned and was right on the beach and felt so perfect!
