Antwerp, here I come ! + 4 things I will miss about living in Asia..

Schermafbeelding 2014-10-05 om 23.32.21Hello lovely friends !
I would like to thank you all for your sweet emails and messages through FB and my Instagram, asking me where I was and when I was posting again. I do admit, I was a bit M.I.A for a while but all with good reason.

As I mentioned on my website before I applied for a job in Antwerp, Belgium….and……

I got the job!!!!
I am so excited about this opportunity. I start Monday the 13th and than I will reveal which company I will be working for and what my position there will be. I can say that I will combine my passion for traveling well with this job and that makes me really happy!

So what have I been up to this week?
I was in Antwerp on Monday for my 3rd and final interview. I was not feeling well because I had food poisoning the night before and was actually quite sick the entire night. However, I did not want to cancel my interview so of course I went and tried my best. And it worked out! Immediately after the interview I was offered the job, and even though I was not feeling well because my tummy hurted, I could not have been happier. This is such a great chance at such a wonderful company and I am already so grateful!

The rest of the week was basically spend apartment hunting. And Thursday-Saturday I have spend with my new colleagues at a very cool place near the Belgium coast for their annual ‘Kick Off’ weekend. I felt blessed that I had the opportunity to join them for this very cool event because it was a great opportunity to meet and get to know all my colleagues.
I had a lot of fun and I have learned a lot about the company during these days!

The upcoming week I will continue with my apartment hunt and of course you can expect new daily articles on my website again!

I am ready to start a new chapter of my life in Antwerp, Belgium and to discover and explore the city. I will make a city guide about Antwerp where I will share my discovered hotspots and much more!

For now, let’s say goodbye to some of my fave Bali/Asia moments. (see pics down below)
And I promise, to once I am settled, I will post a lot of cool Antwerp pics !
This picture was taken in Singapore, at the Marina Bay Sands dock. I will definitely miss the walks here watching the beautiful buildings. As I am an architecture lover, I adore skyscrapers and buildings. This sight will never get boring and I can’t wait to be back.

Walking in high heels in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur. Yes, I hear you think, but isn’t that a bit uncomfortable, why don’t you wear your sneakers? Well, I like to be a fancy pants! Haha, no just kidding. Normally I would wear my jeans and vans while walking through Chinatown, but I had a meeting that day, hence the outfit!400903_115239635349666_1267913595_n
This is what I probably would miss the most about living in Bali. My scoooottteerr! And yes, in a tropical country such as Indonesia, a scooter is way better than a car. First of all, there are so many traffic jams, and I don’t like to wait in traffic cause that is so time consuming, scooter is way better. You can easily pass all the cars waiting in the jam and drive yourself to where ever you want to go. The freedom this little thing gave me for so many years that I have spend on and of in Bali is hard to put in words. It is just an amazing feeling and I can’t wait to be back, this time for a ‘holiday’ to visit my island, hop on my bike and feel one with mother nature again!971003_115239115349718_967985378_n

The beautiful sunsets….my oh my…I am sure Antwerp does not have sunsets like these. Haha. But that is ok. This picture was taken in Langkawi, one of the Islands that are part of Malaysia. Okay, Bali has beautiful sunsets and untill now, no place can even compare to Bali but sunsets in Langkawi are pretty amazing too. I will miss that so much, being able to see the sun rise and set on a daily bases. 960272_115239688682994_1397114288_n

I just want you guys all to know that I am very excited about moving to Antwerp and to join this very cool company! I am ready for this new chapter in my life, to work hard for the company and show them what I am made of : )

I will talk to you guys tomorrow,
Big kiss ! Love you,x

  1. Wow, how exciting! I’m so happy for you.

Antwerp is super cool. My brother lives there.

How funny that the first Asia picture in this post, Singapore, shows the condo where I lived fir 4 years: the Sail. Yes, the building shaped a bit like a sail, with the pointy tip. Marina Bay is just awesome!

Good luck with all the changes in your life right now!
