Hej lovelies,
How are you guys doing? It is currently weekend and I am behind my laptop working on my website. I hope your weekend is more fun than mine. Haha. No, just kidding. I love to spend my days behind my laptop working on my articles. Just now, I am busy editing this #TOTD for you guys and it honestly makes me so happy. I have an amazing new #TOTD for you guys. I love to share stories of people that inspire me so here we go….. I am sure you will love this girl and her account as much as I do !

Short message from the #TOTD: My name is Angelica Wilk, I am a 27 year old Brooklyner who loves to leave NYC as much as possible! I became a flight attendant recently to do exactly that on the regular. I inspire my fellow NYC-ers (and everyone in the world) to venture out as well on BrooklynChickTravels. I love scuba diving and tropical islands the most! You can find my IG account here: http://instagram.com/bkchicktravels
1.  Where did you go for your first travel experience/holiday?
My first travel experience was when I was 3 years old. My parents took me to Poland, where they are both from. I don’t remember much except for being ridden on a horse with them and seeing the neighbors coming over to chat at my Grandma’s yard. Later on, the real travel experience I remember is going upstate in NY to the Catskill Mountains, hiking around, and picking mushrooms to eat!
2.  Which 5 items do you always bring on your travels
Hmm.. I do pack a lot into my carry-on. For five items that are my must-must have’s :
1. My camera – Got to take lots of pictures!
2. Extra batteries for all electronics – Never a worse feeling when you’re somewhere beautiful and your phone and everything else is on 0%.
3. My snorkel and mask – If I can snorkel anywhere, I’m game.
4. Sunglasses – I seek the sun out and squinting hurts after a while!
5. Pack of cards – It’s easy to play with them at home, at a bar, great ice-breaker for meeting new friends and teaching each other new games.

3. Where are you now and where will you go for your next trip?
Currently, I am in Brooklyn packing up for the airport to fly to Philadelphia for the day and work more flights on the East Coast! My next trip is set for San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2 weeks where I’ve rented a car for $9 per day and will be doing a lot of exploring. I plan to catch the ferry to Vieques Island while I’m there to of course, snorkel and catch some sun. Maybe, just maybe, I will use my flight benefits before that trip and check out Albuquerque and Roswell, New Mexico for the food and the UFO sighting spot.
4.  What is your dream destination and why?c1c5a114-531a-4db4-92c8-0bf5eab471d7The Maldives – something about them just makes me drool. There are tons of islands so I could island hop and many of them have the over-water bungalows to stay in. Being out in the middle of the Indian Ocean also makes me want to visit them more because of their exclusive location.
5. What is your favorite travel picture that you took and why/what is the story behind it ? angelica aruba
I love this picture of me in Aruba on this walkway/cliff over a beach. I was with my best friend who snapped it and we just had a ball that day. We explored the North Coast of the island which is very rugged and full of dirt roads. This beach was our fav that day as the scenery was different and the waves kept crashing underneath me. Plus, I felt on top of the world.
6. If you could take 3 celeb travel buddies on your next trip, who would they be and why?
Cameron Diaz – She’s so funny and I can see her as a total goofball when on vaca, would love to chat, have drinks with her, and learn all the watersports she knows!
Miley Cyrus – You know it’d be a crazyyyy time, something crazy would happen – and memorable.
Jennifer Lawrence – We could survive anything after Hunger Games, I would not have to worry. I’d like to sleep in a tree too for a bit, but not have anyone “after” us.
7.  Are you a backpacker (budget traveling) or a flash packer (luxury traveler)? And what was the best backpack/flashback accommodation where you have ever stayed?
I’m kind of 50/50, but I would say I’m more of a flash packer. I’ve only stayed in hostels 3 times so far. I love renting out oceanfront condos and beachfront rooms from hotels more often. I always try to snag the best deal (around $100 or less per night) and go budget on food and excursions. It’s much less expensive to take yourself out in a country than book all the guided tours. It’s also more fun to eat the local foods and not stay on the hotel grounds the entire time. So I do go very budget on how I am spending my day.

I hope you guys enjoyed this #TOTD! What would your dream destination be?

Love you,
